AMBER team is leaving Paranal (26/04/2004)
Saturday 27 March 2004

The AMBER team is leaving Paranal today, back to Europe. The run was very successful and the instrument will be ready for the astronomical community presumably in the beginning of 2005. However several commissioning runs have still to be performed to assess the performance of the instrument during this year.

The first commissioning run will take place in the second half of May 2004 and will end with 2 nights with 2 UTs equiped with the adaptive optics MACAO, and, a night with 3 UTS (unfortunately the third UT is not yet equiped with an AO system).
